Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 22, 2026
ShuttleSmart is a mobile app that tracks badminton players' tournament entry-list positions and world rankings and alerts you when they change. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Data We Collect
We collect the following data to operate the app:
- Email address — collected when you create or sign in to your account and used to manage it.
- App-usage & product-interaction data — which features and screens you use, including which players you choose to follow. Used to operate and improve the app. Not sold and not used for advertising.
- Device identifier (install ID) — a per-install identifier used to attribute usage analytics and to route notifications to your device.
- Push notification token — collected only if you enable notifications, so we can deliver your ranking and entry-list alerts.
- Crash & diagnostic data — technical error and performance reports, shared with a third-party crash-monitoring provider solely to detect and fix problems.
2. Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, microphone, or health data, and we do not sell your personal data or use it for advertising. The badminton information shown in the app is publicly available.
- We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and we do not use the device’s advertising identifier. We have not implemented any App Tracking Transparency prompt because we do not track you.
3. How We Use Your Data
- Email — to create your account, sign you in, manage your account, and send essential service messages.
- App-usage data — to understand how the app is used and to improve features; reviewed in aggregate and never sold.
- Device identifier — to attribute analytics to an install and to deliver the notifications you request.
- Crash & diagnostic data — to diagnose and fix errors and improve stability.
4. Third-Party Services
The app relies on the following third-party services:
- App store billing — when a subscription is offered, it is billed and managed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see or store your payment card details.
- Crash-monitoring provider — a third-party service that receives crash and diagnostic reports to help us fix errors. It is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.
- Google Cloud — hosts our backend, which stores your account and the players you follow so your alerts work across devices. Communication uses HTTPS.
5. Data Storage and Security
- Your account and the list of players you follow are stored on our servers (Google Cloud) so your alerts work across your devices.
- Your sign-in session is kept in your device's secure storage; you can optionally require biometric unlock to open the app.
- All communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS.
6. App Permissions
The app may request the following device permissions:
- Push notifications — to alert you when a player you follow moves on a tournament entry list or in the rankings. Optional; the app works fully without them.
- Biometric unlock — optional; lets you protect access to the app with your device's fingerprint or face unlock.
- Secure on-device storage — to keep your sign-in session on your device.
- Internet access — to fetch public badminton data and deliver your alerts.
7. Children's Privacy
The app is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Your Rights
- We collect your email address to create and sign in to your account and to manage it.
- We collect app-usage information (which features and screens you use, including which players you choose to follow) to operate and improve the app. This is not sold or used for advertising.
- We use a device identifier to attribute usage analytics and to deliver notifications to your device.
- We share crash and diagnostic data with a third-party crash-monitoring provider solely to detect and fix errors.
- You can delete your account at any time from inside the app (Settings → Delete account), or from our web deletion page if you no longer have the app installed. Deletion is scheduled after a 30-day grace period during which signing back in cancels it; after that it is permanent.
- Any subscription is billed and managed by your device's app store; we never see your payment card details.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
